Writing Therapy, with Me
Your own virtual personal growth retreat (Included for all paid subscribers)
Hello Friends,
In my last piece I wrote about the power of being able to communicate effectively and how struggling to communicate, for example, in a second language, is humbling and can feel disempowering.
Words can be the tools for emotional freedom, and often they are the most powerful and the most personal of our tools, especially the words we speak to ourselves in our own heads.
I’m inviting you to join me in a weekly online writing retreat, where I’ll guide you through core writing exercises for deepening our self-awareness, self-understanding and self-compassion, through a variety of exercises you can do anywhere, in your own time.
I’ll read to you, chapter by chapter from my book How to be Your Own Hero where the exercises live permanently, and I’ll be adding plenty of further inspiration, guidance, reflections and insights to what’s in the book, as I read.
By the end of the Writing Therapy sessions you will have worked on finding your own unique insights into big questions like:
How do I deal with the negative voice in my head?
How do I overcome pain from my past and thrive?
How do I build a life I love each day?
How do I improve my relationships?
How do I love myself when it seems impossible?
How do I forgive my mistakes?
How do I turn my vulnerabilities into strengths?
What are my purposes in life, and where are they hiding?
You don’t have to be a writer to do this with me. You don’t even have to love writing - the process is a tool for your personal growth, your way - no essays required!
The time commitment?
Whatever you want to devote to it - it’s completely up to you. I send you new instalments weekly, and it’s up to you from there.
It goes like this:
Each week I send you an email with a podcast to listen to whenever you want to, and some writing prompts or questions for reflection on the topic of the audio.
You have the option of then sharing your responses with me, and the other participants if you wish, or keeping your writing for yourself.
A discussion thread will be open for participants in the Writing Therapy Virtual Retreat to share your thoughts with me, and each other, within the confines of the group.
The Retreat podcasts and exercises go out weekly to all paid subscribers as a thank you, included in your subscription, starting from next week.
